What we did
We coached Jo Hind, a talented AOL sales manager, to improve her performance at work, which led to renewed enthusiasm for her role, promotion and an enhanced career path. AOL is the world's leading and best known interactive services provider.
Why we did it
Jo was referred to us by a client. Factors outside of work were leading her to feel demotivated and often negative about her job and uncertain about the way that AOL viewed her progression within the company. She felt sure that, if her working relationship with her line manager could be improved, then she'd be back on track.
The scenario
Jo lacked belief in her skills and she lacked confidence. She wanted to explore whether personal coaching could provide the means to understand and deal with her situation and help to significantly improve her performance.
The approach
Jo's lack of self-belief was the key to the problem. She needed to understand the problem, build her confidence and then use this to become more engaged at work and recover her energy and enthusiasm.
We worked with Jo to help her recognise and focus on her own 'recipe for success'. We helped her set goals, gathered her own insight into her personality and the way that she responds to typical work situations, gathered the insights of others and then began to review our collective findings to develop an action plan for change. Essentially, we gave Jo the tools to make a difference to her own and others' performance.
The results
Jo now has the skills to improve her own performance and that of her team. She has also secured a well-deserved promotion.
